The Astral is Kiwi Ears professionalgrade inear monitors designed to deliver a premium audio resolution and exceptional tonal balance. The Astral is intended for professional music engineers and discerning audiophiles who seek an engaging sound that does not compromise on accuracy nor precision. The Astral utilizes an inhouse 10mm bioceramic diaphragm dynamic driver. Our custom diaphragm material provides excellent thump in the low subbass frequencies that smoothly transition into a lush bass. The bass has been tuned to accommodate the unique characteristics of this driver, and features a slightly smoother transition from the bass into the mids, with a rolling cutoff at 300Hz. The Astral utilizes inhouse custom midrange balanced armature drivers to focus on a neutral midrange to make vocals and instruments sound tonally correct, with an accurate pinna compensation curvature at 2.8kHz to perfectly match the perceived hearing of the human ear. This makes for a faithful reproduction of the sound similar to studio monitors. We have customized the famed SWFK balanced armature tweeter to have a smoother ultrafrequency treble response. This modification allows uniform integration with our midrange driver, and extends the ultratreble frequencies without any shrill or harshness. With better treble extension and greater drive efficiency than other driver types, our new tweeter redefines balanced armature performance. Astral has a powerful 9dB subbass shelf that has a more rounded and smoother transition into the lowmidrange, cutting off at 300Hz. This transition eliminates any disjointment between a typical bass shelf and the midrange. The treble follows the tonal signature of some of the worlds best renown stage IEMs, with a perfect 2.8kHz peak that slowly rolls off into the upper treble. We have extended this roll off to be slower and more uniform until 15kHz, which extends the upper frequency reach, while staying natural and comfortable to listen to. The Astral IEM uses 3D Printed Resin as the shell material, this ensures a comfortable fit for those long recording or listening sessions but also showcases topnotch craftsmanship.
