Armani Code -- a shelf anchor rather than a gamble
Armani Code by Giorgio Armani is a shelf anchor rather than a gamble. It belongs to the Armani Code line, of which this catalogue carries 19 references -- enough to build a branded facing rather than stocking a single orphan SKU. The house carries a loyalty most brands never get. A customer who found his scent in Acqua di Gio or hers in Si buys the same bottle for years, and that is the repeat business a fragrance section runs on.
Fragrance Composition
Olfactory family: Floral Oriental Woody
Top notes: bitter orange, italian orange, ginger
Heart notes: orange blossom absolute, sambac jasmine
Base notes: honey, vanilla, sandalwood
It wears sweet, honeyed and enveloping. Put that on the shelf talker and it does most of the selling.

Retailer Insights
Armani Code targets female buyers 18-55. Moves well through perfumerias, beauty boutiques and gift retail. A cool-weather performer above all -- it sells hardest when buyers reach for something with weight. Natural cross-sells from this catalogue: Armani Code Parfum, Armani Code 2-Piece Set, Armani Code Parfum 3-Piece Set, Si.
Positioning
Give Giorgio Armani a block of its own at eye level. This is a house customers come in naming, and at this ticket the ones who have to hunt for it often leave and buy it somewhere else. Group the Armani Code line in one block -- the flankers sell to the customer who already owns the original. Hold your price near the market: at this level of recognition the customer is buying the name, and a deep discount reads as a reason to doubt the bottle rather than a reason to buy it.
